Technical writer – Visma.net Financials

Do you want to join the Cloud ERP revolution? Visma.net Financials is an ERP tool at the forefront of the movement towards Cloud – a platform aimed at SMBs and large enterprises, completely cloud-based. We are looking for a technical writer to join Visma’s R&D Team. You will be working in an international, distributed team currently located in the Netherlands, Norway,  Sweden, Finland, Romania and Denmark.

With over 4000 product development resources, Visma has quickly evolved into Europe's largest center of excellence at development of cloud software. The best products tend to come as a result of close collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams, and attracting and retaining world-class people, so we need you! A Danish technical writer to join Visma’s R&D Team.

About the role

As a technical writer, you will be an important part of the development team. With your understanding of the users’ needs and your expert skills in documentation management and translation, you will make both the user interface and the user documentation clear and easy to understand for our partners and end users.

The Visma.net ERP team is organized in self-driving teams, each responsible for one component of the ERP solution. We are looking for a technical writer to join the Project Accounting team, where you will work closely with product owners, developers and business analysts. You will also work closely with four other technical writers working on other components.

Technical writers on the Visma.net ERP team are also responsible for the localization of the application. We work with a CAT tool (Crowdin) to translate the user interface into Norwegian, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, and Danish. Therefore, it’s important that you are fluent in Danish. Experience with translation tools or with translation of financial material is an absolute plus.

Aside from your documentation and translation skills – writing great content, organizing massive amounts of it and making highly technical information easy to understand – you also have a natural ability to coordinate and push initiatives forward. With technical writers dispersed across 5 teams, it will be your responsibility to make sure documentation and localization initiatives are prioritized and that all technical writers are working towards the same goals.

As a technical writer on the Visma.net ERP team, you will work with:

  • Production and maintenance of technical documentation

  • Translation of the user interface

  • Ensuring linguistic consistency between UI and documentation

  • Optimizing the organization of a massive amount of support documentation

  • Improving the translation and documentation infrastructure

  • Showing the value of documentation and localization to management

Required qualifications

  • Experience of working with technical writing and/or software translation

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

  • You’re fluent in English as well as in Danish

  • You have a flair for management and coordination of a dispersed team

  • You are passionate about serving customers

Bonus qualifications

  • Experience with ERP systems or knowledge of accounting

  • Experience with single-source publishing and topic-based content authoring systems, such as MadCap Flare

  • Experience with CAT tools (fx. Crowdin)

Recruitment Process

  • Recruitment will be done on a rolling basis.

  • The first interview will take place at our office in Copenhagen (or online) where we get to know each other. If invited for the second interview, you will ask to do a case and you will meet a peer from one of the other offices.

  • Hiring Manager & HR will be present at both interviews.
