Verification Process
How to enable your app to be installed on production agreements.
Apps created must be verified before they can be installed on agreements that aren't demos. This applies to every app: internal apps for your own company as well as apps you build for others.
Until verification is done, the installation URL shows "App not ready for installation" on production agreements.
Overview:
Step | Done | Where | Who |
1. Verify your company with MitID | Once per developer agreement | The banner at the top of the app overview in your developer agreement | Someone who can sign for the company, with a private MitID or a MitID Erhverv with a CPR number |
2. Complete the app's survey | Once per app | The app in the app overview, under Information | Anyone with access to the developer agreement |
3. Install | Per agreement | The app's installation URL (under Tokens) | A user on the agreement you're connecting |
That's it. There's no approval to wait for: as soon as steps 1 and 2 are done, the app can be installed on production agreements.
Obs
💡 Only for a Market listing:Content, Preview → Complete app setup, Approval and Publish are only needed if you want your app shown on the e-conomic Market. External apps aren't automatically shared on marketplace.
Before You Start: Test on a Demo
Apps can be installed on demo agreements without any verification. Create a demo with data at e-conomic.dk/regnskabsprogram/demo-alle and install your app there while you build. Send us the demo's agreement number if you need it extended (up to one year at a time, free of charge).
When you go live, install the same app on the production agreement through the same installationURL. You'll get a new AgreementGrantToken and keep the same AppSecretToken.
Step 1: Verify Your Company with MitID
Start the verification from the banner at the top of the app overview in your developer agreement (Verify with MitID Business). Verification belongs to the developer agreement, so you only do it once, not per app.
Who must verify?
One person who can sign for the company whose CVR number is registered on the developer agreement, using either their private MitID or a MitID Erhverv with a CPR number that can sign for that CVR. A MitID Erhverv that's only associated with the company isn't enough. It doesn't have to be the CEO, and one person is enough. You can check who can sign in the CVR register on virk.dk
The person signing doesn't need a user on the developer agreement. Whoever has access logs in to the developer agreement (preferably in an incognito window), starts the verification from the banner, and the person signing completes the MitID step in that same window.
If you can't sit together, choose someone else must verify and enter the name and email of the person signing. They'll receive a verification link (see the tips below).
Which MitID?
Use MitID Erhverv (MitID Business) by default.
Use your private MitID if the MitID page asks for it, if verification with MitID Erhverv doesn't complete, or if a private MitID is the only one available for the company (e.g. a sole proprietorship). Start the flow the same way (Verify with MitID Business) and log in with your private MitID on the MitID page.
If your MitID gives access to several companies, choose the one matching the CVR on the developer agreement.
Companies registered outside Denmark
The company country of registration you chose when creating the developer agreement decides the method. Outside Denmark, you'll be asked for documentation of the company, such as a Certificate of Incorporation, the flow shows what's needed. The country can't be changed afterwards. If it's wrong, create a new developer agreement with the correct country.
Step 2: Complete the App's Survey
Open the app in the app overview and fill in the survey under Information. It has 6 steps, including a legal declaration. Every mandatory field must be filled in and the survey submitted. A green checkmark on each step shows it's complete.
The answers must reflect what your app does and who it's for. The survey can't be edited after submission. If your app's purpose or role changes later, create a new app with a new survey.
The survey won't submit?
The Submit button is at the top right, once every step has a green checkmark. A survey that's filled in but not submitted doesn't count.
URL fields only accept a full URL starting with
https://.Some fields only show "Required" after you've clicked into them. Go through every step and check for green checkmarks.
The list of steps on the left shows which one is incomplete. Very long texts in the purpose description can block submission, so shorten them.
If an email field rejects a valid address, try an incognito window without browser extensions or password managers.
Step 3: Install Your App
Copy the app's installation URL from developer agreement → your app → Tokens.
Log in to the agreement you want to connect, and use only one browser tab with e-conomic.
Open the installation URL and approve. You'll receive the AgreementGrantToken (or be redirected to your registered RedirectURL).
You can't install apps on a developer agreement, since it holds no accounting data. Install on your regular agreement or a demo.
Troubleshooting
Still "App not ready for installation"?
Check that every survey step has a green checkmark and that the survey has been submitted.
Check that MitID verification shows Company verified.
Check that you completed both steps on the right developer agreement. Several developer agreements on the same email can cause confusion.
MitID verification completes, but the company still isn't verified
Check the CVR number on your developer agreement. This is the most common cause: the field contains something other than the company's CVR (a company name, another company's CVR, a typo). You can't change it yourself, so contact API support with your developer agreement number and the correct CVR.
Close all e-conomic windows and tabs. Another open session can block verification.
Run the whole flow in an incognito/private window, without browser extensions. This fixes most cases.
Make sure the person verifying can sign for that CVR with a private MitID or a MitID Erhverv with a CPR number (see Who must verify?), and try the other MitID type (see Which MitID?).
Still failing? Contact API support with the time of the attempt, so we can find it in our logs.
Sending the verification to someone else
Each link works once. Cancel old requests and send one new invitation, then use only the newest email.
The recipient should be logged out of e-conomic, open the link in an incognito window, and finish the flow straight away. Links that are left open too long time out.
Common error messages
Message | What to do |
"Hovsa! Der gik noget galt" / "Unable to load validation request" | The link was already used or has expired. Request a new one. |
"Access to e-conomic external is not allowed due to an application policy" | Log out of e-conomic everywhere, request a new link and open it in incognito. |
"Verification process timed out" | Start again and complete the flow without leaving it open. |
Internal or External App?
Internal: an app used only on agreements with the same CVR number as the developer agreement. Installing an internal app on another CVR fails with "This app is for internal use only".
Group companies with their own CVR numbers, foreign branches, or a customer's agreement need an external app. Create it on the same developer agreement: the MitID verification is already done, so only the new app's survey is needed.
External: an app used by other companies, including an app an agency or consultant builds for a customer. External doesn't mean it's shown on the Market; that only happens if you apply for it and publish it.
Installation Limit and Review
Once verified, a new app can be installed on up to 20 agreements (API Terms §6.1):
At 10 installations, you'll be notified, so you can start the manual verification in good time.
At 20 installations, new installations are paused until our partner team has verified the app. Existing installations keep working as before.
You can contact apps@e-conomic.com to start the review earlier. The full text is in the API Terms of Service.
Want Your App on the Market?
Market listing is optional and handled by our partner team at apps@e-conomic.com. It requires, among other things, about 20 active installations, Danish app texts and support, and a free trial period. To apply, fill in Content, go through Preview and send the app for approval. Once approved, you publish it yourself.
